Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, has claimed the top spot as the best-performing MP in Nairobi County, according to a survey conducted by the renowned research and consulting firm, Infotrak.
Babu Owino’s remarkable achievement has earned him a substantial lead of 60 percent in the rankings. He surpasses his Westlands counterpart, Timothy Wanyonyi, who secured the second position with a commendable 58 percent.
Both MPs secured re-election during the 2022 general elections under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) banner.
In this comprehensive survey, Infotrak evaluated the performance of MPs across Nairobi County, with Benjamin Gathiru, also known as Mejjadonk, of Embakasi Central securing the third position with an impressive 56 percent.
The survey encompassed notable MPs like James Gakuya of Embakasi North, Tom Kajwang’ of Ruaraka, and John ‘KJ’ Kiarie of Dagoretti South, who jointly ranked fifth with 54 percent.
Meanwhile, Samuel Mwenje of Embakasi West and Ronald Karauri of Kasarani jointly obtained the seventh-best performers’ rank with 52 percent.
Phelix ‘Jalang’o’ Odiwuor of Lang’ata and Beatrice Elachi of Dagoretti North jointly hold the 10th position with a 50 percent rating.
This extensive survey was conducted between July and September this year, covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies, and 1450 wards, with a substantial sample size of 58,748 respondents.
In addition to these impressive rankings, Hon. Babu Owino is set to receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from Weldios University, further exemplifying his unwavering commitment to growth and accomplishment.
This recognition highlights his remarkable achievements and his pursuit of academic excellence, positioning him as a prominent figure not only in Nairobi County but on an international stage.
According to the same opinion polls, Ndindi Nyoro is the best-performing MP nationwide in Kenya, with an impressive score of 70 percent. His leadership is closely followed by Kangema MP Peter Irungu, who attained a notable 68 percent rating.
Furthermore, five outstanding MPs have jointly secured the third position, each boasting a remarkable 66 percent approval rating.
This group includes Paul Mwirigi of Igembe South, Gideon Mulyungi of Mwingi Central, Christopher Wangaya of Kwisero, Robert Mbui of Kathiani, and Peter Kaluma of Homa Bay Town.
