Kibutha Primary School now has a new modern PP1 classroom, a project that was completed in a record 3 months.
The construction of the new classroom was initiated in response to the critical need to separate PP1 and PP2 pupils, who had previously shared a single classroom.
The situation raised concerns about the comfort and learning environment for both pupils and teachers.
The project was celebrated with a commissioning ceremony attended by jubilant parents and community members.
It was a moment of pride and joy, as the new classroom promises to enhance the educational experience of the young learners at Kibutha Primary School.
“This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to community development.” says Kanyenyaini Ward MCA Grace Nduta, who played a pivotal role in the project.
Hon. Nduta expressed her gratitude to the residents and recognized their active involvement through public participation.
“I would also like to greatly appreciate the support of Governor Irungu Kang’ata, as his administration allocated the necessary funds for the project and provided critical supervision to ensure its timely completion.” she adds.
The new PP1 classroom not only represents a physical structure but also embodies the community’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for its children.
It is expected to significantly improve the overall quality of education at Kibutha Primary School and set the foundation for a brighter future for the young learners.
According to the area MCA Grace Nduta, several other life-changing projects are in the pipeline, with locals set to benefit from her close working relationship with Governor Irungu Kang’ata.
Across the country, the state of ECDE infrastructure remains a challenge, with many schools struggling to provide appropriate facilities for their youngest students. A lack of dedicated classrooms, suitable play areas, and resources hampers the quality of early education.
Furthermore, the availability and remuneration of qualified ECDE teachers remains an ongoing issue across the counties.
