Hon. Babu Owino has been granted a remarkable and prestigious honor by Weldios University in recognition of his outstanding contributions to society and his exemplary leadership in the political arena.
In an event is set to take place at the Palais Du Congres Hall in Cotonou, Republic du Benin, the university will confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Political Leadership upon the Embakasi East MP.
Furthermore, the University has also invited the vocal legislator to deliver a keynote address during the convocation ceremony.

Babu Owino’s educational journey commenced in 2003 when he enrolled at Kisumu Boys Secondary School, ultimately culminating in his successful completion of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2006.
A significant turning point in his academic life came when he earned a scholarship to pursue advanced studies through the Cambridge system. With diligence and determination, he embarked on A-level studies, leading to the attainment of six diplomas, a testament to his dedication to academic excellence.
In 2008, Babu Owino took the next stride in his educational journey by enrolling at the University of Nairobi, where he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science.
This endeavor culminated in his graduation in 2012. Demonstrating an insatiable thirst for knowledge, in 2013, he re-enrolled at the same esteemed university, this time to undertake a rigorous Law Degree program.
In addition to his six diplomas and the two bachelor’s degrees, he also earned Master’s degrees in both Actuarial Science and Law, underscoring his enduring dedication to academic excellence and his pursuit of knowledge.
While his academic journey is certainly remarkable, it has laid a strong foundation for his subsequent political career.
His entry into politics in 2011, when he was elected as the chairman of the Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU), marked the commencement of his political leadership journey.
