On Sunday, Interior and National Administration PS Dr. Raymond Omollo met with Directors and CEOs from Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori counties, all representing various government institutions.
This crucial meeting brought together prominent Luo leaders in government institutions, led by the recently confirmed Director General of Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, who had been in an acting capacity for the past five years.
Other notable Luo officials present included KIMC Council Chair Charles Owino and Nicholas Gumbo, among others.
During the meeting, PS Omollo urged the leaders to unite in advancing President William Ruto’s BETA agenda within their counties.
He stressed the importance of a unified approach in implementing development projects that align with the President’s vision.
The leaders agreed that by working together, they can ensure that their respective counties are not left behind in the national development agenda.
PS Omollo also emphasized the need for the leaders to adapt to the nation’s current challenges.
Also discussed in the meeting was the importance of being proactive and resilient in the face of economic, social and political obstacles.
In addition to unity and adaptability, PS Omollo called for the building of strong networks of mutual support and cooperation among the leaders from Nyanza region.
The leaders agreed that by fostering a culture of collaboration, they could better leverage their collective strengths and resources.
PS Omollo’s unity drive aims to rally the Luo community behind President Ruto, ensuring that inclusivity remains a cornerstone of his administration and that every community feels represented and valued.
The meeting followed another morning session chaired by PS Omollo, where he held a deliberative discussion with regional commissioners to address the security situation in their areas.
Their conversation covered several key topics, including coordinating government development projects, monitoring and evaluating these initiatives, maintaining law and order and training National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) for improved service delivery to the people.
